This recognises our work with pupils who have additional needs as well as our commitment to creating and sustaining an inclusive learning environment for all our pupils. We are proud to hold ArtsMark Silver and are currently Going for Gold! Activemark We are pleased to report that we achieved Activemark again in 2008 (there was no award in 2009). It is awarded for high Quality PE within school together with developing opportunities and activities in Curriculum and Extra-Curricular time. To achieve Activemark we: Healthy Schools We were delighted to have achieved full Healthy School status. The school encourages healthy eating and a water bottle is supplied for every child. A focus on a healthy lifestyle permeates all aspects of our school..... At Christ Church we believe in celebrating and rewarding the achievements of our pupils too - we are always finding something to celebrate! Every Friday we have an Assembly led by one of our classes as they share with us their work and achievements. This is also an opportunity to share achievements from out of school and celebrate good behaviour and special achievements. We particularly enjoy being able to share these events with parents on Fridays at 2.45pm. Eco-Schools Award The Government in England wants every school to be a sustainable school by 2020. The Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) launched their Sustainable Schools Framework in 2006 when the Secretary of State for Education, the Rt Hon Alan Johnson MP set out challenging long-term aspirations for schools to mainstream learning about sustainable development issues and sustainable practices into everyday school life. Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life. We have a council, elected by the pupils, to focus on energy, re-cycling and making our school more sustainable. We currently hold the Silver Award.School Awards and Achievements
